Refurbishment

Renovating, restructuring and refurbishing existing buildings

The studio refurbishes, restructures and renovates office buildings and hotels in Paris and its inner suburbs, whether occupied or vacant. Bringing up to standard, improving performance, reorganising floor plates or adding storeys: every intervention starts from the existing building to adapt it to tomorrow's uses.

Working with what exists

Paris and the Île-de-France region are already largely built up. The question is no longer one of building new, but of reinterpreting what exists: adapting, revealing, accepting the wear of things. Older buildings, an almost living material, call for a more discreet, lighter architecture, a meeting point between sensitivity and technical constraints.

Repairing rather than imposing

Many buildings have had several lives, with sometimes heavy-handed transformations reflecting the priorities of another era, when elements were added or erased without always being preserved. Our approach today is one of care: intervening with restraint, repairing and revealing rather than imposing, so that the building can continue to adapt to those who will occupy it tomorrow.

Being an architect in passing

Every project begins by understanding the gesture of the previous architect, never by criticising it. The aim: to preserve the soul of the building so that a future architect can, in turn, continue its story. Doing less, to achieve more.
